Bank of America has issued an apology to Spring Hill resident Benjamin Atria Aguirre following the closure of his checking account amidst allegations of discrimination, saying that it was simply a case of “human error.”
Atria Aguirre noticed on August 29 that his checking account was inaccessible. He was not notified until August 31 that his checking account had been closed, and that a check with the remaining balance had been sent in the mail.
Atria Aguirre’s checking account was fully restored on September 4, however, as it was near the end of the month, the closure caused some difficulties in paying mortgage and bills. Bank of America has said they will cover any late fees Atria Aguirre incurred because of the account closure.
It wasn’t until a friend of Atria Aguirre forwarded him a news articlethat detailed reports of other Bank of America customers having their accounts closed…

Migrant Who Stabbed Two American Tourists Cites Criticism of Islam as Motive
The Afghan migrant who stabbed two American tourists in Amsterdam says he was motivated by people in the Netherlands insulting Islam and the Prophet Muhammad.
Public prosecutors have revealed that the suspect, 19-year-old Jawed S., traveled from Germany to the Netherlands to carry out the attack “because he thinks that the Prophet Muhammad, the Koran and Islam are frequently offended here.”
The jihadist also mentioned that he was offended over statements made by right-wing Dutch politician and strident Islam critic Geert Wilders.
Wilders reacted to the news by tweeting, “Muslim terrorists hate our way of life and our liberties. They answer criticism of Islam with violence. Almost every week this kind of gruesome stabbing takes place against innocent people throughout Europe.”
The two American victims of the terror attack remain in hospital with serious injuries.
As we reported last week, Wilders was forced to cancel a ‘draw Muhammad’ cartoon contest in Amsterdam after terrorists threatened to attack the event.
Wilders made the decision after an Islamist posted a video to Facebook announcing he was in the Hague and ready to kill the Dutch politician.
Islamic terrorists and their sympathizers have targeted high profile individuals for assassination before in the Netherlands as payback for criticizing or making fun of Islam.
In 2004, Theo van Gogh, who worked with Somali-born writer and politician Ayaan Hirsi Ali to produce a film which criticized the treatment of women in Islam, was shot dead by an Islamic terrorist who was offended over the documentary.
The murder prompted Geert Wilders and Ayaan Hirsi Ali to go into hiding for weeks, with Ali eventually leaving permanently for the United States.
In 2002, homosexual Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn, a staunch opponent of mass immigration and the spread of Islam, was killed just days before a national election by a left-wing activist who said he murdered Fortuyn to stop him from exploiting Muslims as “scapegoats”.

After clearance pull, Democrats rush to back Brennan – who spied on them

Democrats have been vocal in condemning US President Donald Trump for revoking former CIA chief John Brennan’s security clearance, forgetting that time he spied on a Democrat-run Senate committee in the name of #Resistance.
On Wednesday, Trump revoked Brennan’s security clearance, which had allowed the ex-spymaster to continue to access classified documents since he resigned last January.

The White House said that Brennan used his security clearance to “sow division and chaos,” and lend a sheen of credibility to his public criticisms of the president. The White House looked into revoking Brennan’s clearance after he accused Trump of “treason” for meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin last month.
Straight away, Democrats jumped in to defend Brennan’s character and to blast Trump for pulling his clearance. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-California), ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said that “In adding John Brennan to his enemies list, Trump demonstrates again how deeply insecure and vindictive he is.”
Rep. Don Beyer (D-Virginia) called the revocation “the weak, paranoid, authoritarian behavior of a dictator.”
In adding John Brennan to his enemies list, Trump demonstrates again how deeply insecure and vindictive he is — two character flaws dangerous in any President.
An enemies list is ugly, undemocratic and un-American. I also believe this action to silence a critic is unlawful. https://t.co/bfOhThIWfq

A flimsy excuse to set a terrible precedent.
Trump is clearly punishing @JohnBrennan for criticizing him, cracking down on a dissent and retaliating against a private citizen’s free speech.
The President has adopted the weak, paranoid, authoritarian behavior of a dictator. https://t.co/c04RuFjihx

Former Vice President Joe Biden called Trump’s act “unbecoming of a President,” and warned that it would only embolden Brennan in his public crusade against Trump.
In the time I have known him, John Brennan has never been afraid to speak up and give it to you straight. Revoking his security clearance is an act unbecoming of a President. If you think it will silence John, then you just don’t know the man.
— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) August 15, 2018
Biden’s words were echoed by former ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul, who said that clearance or not, Brennan “will now be just as vigorous & vigilant in defending American values.”
I had the privilege of working with @JohnBrennan at the White House. I have never met anyone more dedicated to defending our national security than John. He will now be just as vigorous & vigilant in defending American values, including free speech, without a sec clearance.

Brennan’s thesaurus-heavy Tweets and self-righteous grandstanding have made him a hero to the anti-Trump #resistance. However, while Democrats are falling over themselves to pat the former career spy on the back, there was a time when Brennan spied on Democratic lawmakers compiling a report into his agency’s use of torture tactics – and got away with it.
In 2014, as the Senate Intelligence Committee was compiling a lengthy report into the CIA’s use of ‘enhanced interrogation techniques’ at its secret prisons, chair Dianne Feinstein (D-California) accused Brennan’s agency of secretly monitoring the committee’s computers and removing sensitive documents.
After initially denying any wrongdoing and rejecting Feinstein’s “spurious allegations,” Brennan quietly apologized to lawmakers after an internal review proved the senator right.
Despite being caught red-handed spying on his overseers, the Obama administration Department of Justice declined to press charges against Brennan, and he remained in charge of the CIA.
You spied on Congress and lied about it under oath. https://t.co/Go5goGwrff

Just as Democrats seem eager to forgive past wrongs in the name of anti-Trump resistance, the President’s supporters on the right were quick to remember Brennan’s shady practices and praise Trump’s decision to revoke his clearance.
The media is straight up losing their minds that John Brennan lost his clearance
I wonder who their “senior national security source” was…

Libertarian-minded Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), who first proposed pulling Brennan’s clearance, cheered Trump’s decision on Wednesday, and took the opportunity to remind voters that he opposed Brennan’s stewardship of the CIA from the get-go.
I applaud President Trump for his revoking of John Brennan’s security clearance. I urged the President to do this. Read more here: https://t.co/SAQNTJ1UAn

True to form, Brennan himself responded to Trump in a verbose tweet, stating that “my principles are worth far more than clearances,” and vowing to keep up the #resistance.
According to William Binney, a former National Security Agency technical director and NSA whistleblower, Trump should have revoked Brennan’s clearance “a long time ago.” Binney told RT: “The president is doing the right thing revoking the clearances of people who aren’t contributing anything.”
‘Monetized security clearance’
The White House has also mulled revoking security clearances for a host of other former intelligence personnel, including former CIA Director Michael Hayden, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former FBI Director James Comey.
Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in July that they had “politicized, and in some cases monetized, their public service and security clearances.” Since leaving their positions, all have become household names for their public opposition to Trump. Brennan now works for NBC News as a “senior national security and intelligence analyst,” Clapper found a new home at CNN, and Comey penned a book thrashing the Trump administration and comparing Trump himself to a “mob boss.”
Hayden told CNN viewers on Wednesday that Trump’s decision to revoke Brennan’s clearance was “threatening to the rest of us” and amounted to an attempt to silence dissent.
Former Hillary Clinton aide Philippe Reines was more blunt, calling Trump a “vindictive little bitch.”
trump just revoked former CIA Director John Brennan’s security clearance.
What a vindictive little bitch.

Collins et al v Mnuchin et al, 5th App Cir No 17-20364 (Jul 16, 2018)
The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals denied damage awards to three investors who claim they lost money as shareholders in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac due to the toxicity of the 2008 mortgage markets and challenged the constitutionality of the Federal Housing Finance Agency. The Fifth Circuit failed to award damages (as expected) to the investors but ruled that the FHFA, by its very structure was unconstitutional due to the way it was structured to act as a conservator for the two GSE’s and thus violating the Separation of Powers Clause. You can bet that the FHFA will appeal this ruling to save its own ass.
As you recall, the CFPB met similar fate in a ruling issued by a federal judge in New York. The ruling is here:
CFPB et al v RD Legal Funding et al, U.S. S.D. NY No 17-Civ-890 (Jun 21, 2018) 00890-Order
Why doesn’t any of this surprise me? This is why we need public banking. The U.S. Government has set up legislation to protect the banks under 12 U.S.C. but it shows a poor example of financial leadership when its own GSE’s operate without transparency, hiding behind a wall of assignments and secrecy in the land records. Most people recognize that when you put money into an investment vehicle, you risk losing it, which is exactly what happened to the three investors who sued Fannie and Freddie through the FHFA.
Tough toodles on the investors, huh? Why do people keep trusting that the U.S. Government is managed by sound financial policy when its own Congress is self-serving and bipolar in its very nature. This is why we need public banking and to hell with the federal reserve. We have one public bank (The Bank of North Dakota) that IS properly managed and is financially sound (which represents the interests of business and consumers in that State). However, that being said, fiat currency is fiat currency and as long as we have Congress writing checks its body can’t cash, further driving us as a nation into debt, taxing its citizens into oblivion, using “Federal Reserve Notes” (promises to pay) as legal tender, this country is in trouble, because there’s nothing backing that debt. We went off the Gold Standard in 1975 (thanks to Nixon).
Most people also do NOT recognize that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are administrators for their own REMIC trusts, despite the fact that when properties are converted by assignment and “alleged transfer” to a given GSE that it is likely that the actual REMIC it manages it never mentioned. Thus, it raises suspicions that the quasi-government entities created to back the mortgage and housing markets are swindlers on paper!
